Above - Lake Ophion - The Labyrinth. We got up early from Pine Valley to do a long daytrip out to the North Peak of the Geryon

Above - The Geryon - still shrounded in mist - would it clear?

Above - We waited - and the mist started to clear.

Above - Ron and Nick waiting for the mist to clear. To keep warm we lit a small fire. The wait of an hour or two was worthwhile - the mist did slowly clear.

Above - Scrambling up the North Peak of the Geryon. In the mist we lost the normal route and went up a much more exposed way. But it was misty and the exposure did not worry us too much.

Above - With the weather improving, I left the others on the summit - and headed out by myself to traverse the rest of the Du Cane Range to Falling Mountain via Big Gun Pass and Mt Massif. With only a daypack I could move very fast on the big dolerite boulders along the range.

I descended to Du Cane Gap - and then had a brisk walk down to Windy Ridge and to Pine Valley. I got back to the others around 7:30pm
