We completed two walks in the Nelson Region at the top of the South Island -

Richmond Range Walk (6 days) from 6 - 11 Jan 2010

The Travers - Sabine Circuit in Nelson Lakes National Park (9 days) from 13 - 21 Jan 2010

A special thanks to Albert for all his work dehydrating food and organising the evening meals and doing all the cooking of the evening meals - which were all most delicious! And also thanks to DOC for some great tracks and huts.

Photographic Note - on these trips I carried a small (and waterproof) Pentax W60 which was on a cord around my neck while I was walking (and sitting in a top pocket of my shirt) and also, in my pack, I had a Canon digital SLR (an EOS 400D) with three zoom lenses (10 - 22 mm, 18 - 55 mm (both Canon) and 55 - 200 mm(Sigma)) All photos are hand held (with the exception of a few where the camera was sitting on a bridge or on a rock)

While in Nelson - we stayed in the Tasman Bay Backpackers - and found it very good (especially their free chocolate pudding....)
