This walk was organised by Helen for SUBW. Party - Helen, Chantal,
Pete, Helena, Kosta, Max, Dave
Above - it was raining (all day!) - so we headed up to the western
end of Donkey Mountain and sheltered in this cave for a while, then
did a side trip to the Western Tower
Above - Looking at the Western Tower
Above - Helen looking east
Above - this cave provised a passage around the side of the tower to
an easy ramp to the top
Above - Looking east to the Second Tower and the Main Block
Above - a wiser and clearer view of the Second Tower Group and the
Main Block (on the left)
Above - gnarled tree
Above - this cave was a good place for lunch
Above - rain and mist. On top of the Main Block, and close to the
true summit
Above - this pinnacle is the true summit - probably unclimbed?
Above - one of many cracks/canyons in the Main Block
Above - we camped in this large and sheltered chamber closer to the
eastern end of the Main Block
Above - dawn
Above - very delicate rock formations. You need to be very careful
walking in this fragile country!
