Party - John, Chuin Nee, Jasper, Keith, Enmoore, Roscoe, Martin,
Steffy, Su Li, Brent, Dave
I was keen to head out to Rocky Creek Canyon for some more
photographs. John and Chuin Nee were also keen to take their young
son Jasper through the canyon. He is only 18 months old, but had
visited a number of canyons the previous summer. The rest of the
party started out via Twister Canyon.
Above - canyon formation
Above - small cascade
Above - Jasper is not too happy!
He had used the boat previously in very wet canyon like Clatterteeth
Canyon, but time he seemed very upset. Perhaps the helmet and PFD
added to his woes.
Above - is that a tear?
Above - the girls choir sung Jasper one of his favourite songs
Above - Mum and Dad thought it better to take Jasper back to the
start of the canyon.
The rest of the party continued. I continued on for a few photos.
Lighting was very difficult for photography and most of my results
are quite poor. With direct sun it was far too contrasty. It was
hard to avoid burnt out areas in my photos. It was also very cold in
the canyon and I was not too keen to pfaff around with my tripod. So
most of these photos are hand held at high ISO.
Above - Brent in the canyon
Above - Roscoe and Keith
Above - a nice section of canyon but the photograph is ruined by the
burnt out areas.
Above - better with reflected light
Above - Su Li, Enmoore and Steffy swim through the last pool. I stop
here and head back up the canyon.
Above - one last tripod shot at the top of the canyon (even here,
some bright areas had to be cropped out)
