Climbers - Tom Williams, Dave Noble
My old friend Tom Williams has done a lot of climbing in the Kanangra
Deep. Earlier I had been on one of these adventures - Skull
Ridge, a climb below Echo Head. Now Tom had invited me for another
day of climbing in the area. Thanks to Tom for the invitation and for
doing all the leading and route finding.

Above - Tom looking down into the Kanangra Deep - one of his favourite
places. In the middle of the photo on the far side is one his routes -
"Sporting and Progress Ridge" (22) - this goes up the steep ridge to
the tower, then up the steep headwall (to the top middle of the photo)

Above - Another of Tom's routes goes up this spectacular ridge -
"Razorblade Ridge" (15)

Above - Tom starting out on the new route - he called it
"Cyclops" (18) - three pitches

good rock

Above - We then traverse along a ledge to where Tom had done another
climb up the next headwall. This time he had his eye on this short
tricky looking crack.

Above - Later that day - we headed to Mt Piddington, to meet up with
John and Chuin Nee - who I would be climbing with the next day.
