Returning from Mt Kaputar – 30 October – 1 November 2024

Returning from Mt Kaputar was interesting. Here are some places we visited –

Site of the Myall Creek Masacre

After a brief stop at Bingara, we headed to the Myall Creek Massacre Memorial. This is a very moving place to visit, with information about what happened very well presented – as stops along a short walk.

Plum-headed Finch

Little Friarbird

On the way to Tamworth, we visited Split Rock Dam. This is a very good place for birds.

Greater Crested Grebe

Whistling Kite – with a fish

We spent the night at the caravan park at Murrurundi, a very nice town. And we saw the heritage horse trough there – an Annis and George Bills Trough –

Yellow-rumped Thornbill

And a brief stop at Scone to visit another heritage horse trough, and it is another Annis and George Bill Trough –
