Royal Botanic Gardens Photo Trip – 19 January 2021

John had organised a photographic trip to visit the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney. It turned out to be a very pleasant day out in a beautiful part of the city. The aim was to photograph the flowers, trees, birds and insects.

On our visit, it was a quite windy, which made it hard for insects such as butterflies to settle and able to be photographed.

In the party were John, Gary, Ken, Allen, Ross and myself.

We spent a fair bit of time trying to spot the resident Powerful Owls, but had no luck.

Here is a selection of photos –

Near the end of our visit, we spent a fair bit of time trying to photograph a Macleays Swallowtail –

And it was joined by a Skipper –

Thanks to John for organising the day and inviting me along.
