Sculpture by the Sea was back on again after a break of a few years due to Covid and other factors. I spent a pleasant morning with Valerie looking at the exhibits.
We met at the bus stop at Bondi Junction station, and caught a bus to Tamarama. Then it was down to the beach and a look at the sculptures. Here are some –
This one was made up of letters. I don’t think they spelled out any words.
This one is “wrapped up” in the manner of the famous artist Christo – who wrapped up whole beaches in Sydney. More modest perhaps –
Valerie liked the hand –
I seem to remember this one from Dr Who back in the 1960’s –
Valerie didn’t really push this guy over. It is an exhibit –
And there is also a large scale Aboriginal engraving along the cliffs –
This one perhaps represents a shark attack victim –
And here is a large disco ball – I had seen its reflections from Malabar Headland a few days before.
This one looked quite different from different angles –
This looks like a pile of old chairs (and that is what it is) –
Another wrapped one –
We then headed into Bondi for coffee. I then farewelled Valerie and caught abus to Dover Heights. I was hoping to do some bird photography – but a big storm arrived – and I shelter in a bus stop and caught a bus back to Bonds Junction.
