After the Ferndale Park field study with the Sydney Fungal Studies Group, I joined Trevor and Kerry and we travelled up to part of Lane Cove National Park to check the status of the rare Parrot Waxcaps (Gliophorus psittacinus group) found at a certain very restricted location.

We found a few fresh ones out, which was very nice.

These are the same species but are quite old –

Not the two smaller ones growing at the base of this one, and also note their colour.

In this small area, there are also many interesting coral fungi to be found. Many are very tiny.
