I was able to join the Tempe Birdos for their monthly bird survey. This time I joined the group surveying the wetlands. It was fairly quiet bird wise. There were few waterbirds and waders and we didn’t spot any honeyeaters.

There was a large flock of Silvereyes. Here is one –

And quite a few Superb Fairy-wrens.

Here is a Red Wattlebird –

A Sulphur-crested Cockatoo –

We then headed to Tempe Reserve to join the other group for morning tea. Near the picnic table were quite a few Crested Pigeons.

And the group surveying the Reserve had spotted a pair of Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos. So some of us headed off to see them.

After morning tea, when the group broke up, I walked around the Reserve, but didn’t spot too much. I continued along the water pipeline access road into the wastelands. Here I saw a Brown Honeyeater and a New Holland Honeyeater.
