This was a pleasant and relaxing weekend in the Blue Mountains. I headed up with John, Chuin Nee and their young son Jasper. At Wentworth Falls, we met up with Su Li, Brent, Roscoe, Martin and Stephanie. Most of the party were going climbing at Sublime Point at Leura. I joined up with Martin, John and Jasper for a walk.
We started at Leura Cascades and then walked to the base of the First waterfall and then continued down to Leura Forest. Then we walked along Dardanelles Pass and then up the Giant Stairway to the top of the Three Sisters. The last part was along the Prince Henry Walk, which goes along the top of the cliffs to Leura Cascades.
We then met up with the climbers at the Alexandra Hotel, where we had dinner.
On, Sunday, the climbers (including Martin this time) were heading to Bell Supercrag. I walked with John and Jasper a short way along the ridge that leads to the crag. There were lots of wild flowers out – including three different types of orchids.
After this, we headed to Lithgow and had a look at Hassans Walls. Next – we headed to Dargan for lunch at the cafe, and then cooled off with a swim in Dargans Creek Dam before meeting the others again on the ridge above Bell Supercrag.
More photos are online – Leura Cascades Walk, and Bell Wildflowers.
