Royal National Park – 7 November 2014

I spent a very pleasant day with Digi Dave in Royal National Park.

We started out at Flat Rock Crossing. This was one place I had never had a look at before. We parked and set off along the track to the creek, crossed over, and then followed the track downstream.

The creek had some nice pools and some nice rocky slabs. Some good wild flowers fringed the creek.

We then headed to Bundeena and walked out to the cliffs. We sat in a shady cave for a while and ate our lunches and watched for whales. Another party that we met walking back to Bundeena had just seen a whale. We were not so lucky – but later I did spot a pod of dolphins.

Rather than follow the Coastal Track south, we walked north towards the Cobblers.

The first thing we encountered was a large inlet. It looked like it was caused by a dyke. North of this was a nice headland. It was an interesting place. There were lots of old tracks – some of them appeared to be we’ll made. As well, there was a fair amount of rubbish – in
