My second visit to Vivid was on rather a wet evening. This time I headed from Circular Quay towards the Opera House.
It was too wet to photograph the installations, so instead I spent some time photographing the light beams from under shelter at the Opera House. It was like a type of beam wars going on – with beams from various projectors reflecting off rain drops. Something you would not see on a dry evening.
When the rain eased, I headed into the Botanic Gardens. There are some very interesting installations set up there. A noteworthy one involves an old fig tree that must have been 3D scanned. Projectors now superimpose objects like snakes climbing up the branches. Very interesting.
