Wolli Creek Bird Survey – 2 August 2026

I took part in the monthly bird survey in Wolli Creek Regional Park along the section between Girrahween Park and the Flying Fox Camp. It was a cool morning, but the sun was out. We could hear a lot of birds, but not that many wanted their photos taken.

Here are some photos –

Superb Fairy Wren

Australasian Figbirds

New Holland Honeyeater

Galahs

This is one of two Brush Turkeys we saw perched in a tree –

Rainbow Lorikeet

Eastern Rosella

Rainbow Lorikeet and Currawong

Other birds we heard, but we did spot include a Fan Tailed Cuckoo, a Channel Billed Cuckoo, a Golden Whistler and an Eastern Yellow Robin.

After the survey, I headed up to Long Reef for some more bird photography.
