This was another very good day spent out in Malabar Headland National Park. I was with Valerie and Sue and we later met Alana.
We walked out to near Boora Point without seeing very many birds and certainly no raptors. We sat on the cliffs and waited. Down below we could see lots of fish in the sea.
And further out were some Dolphins –

Then, our patience was rewarded. A Peregrine Falcon appeared and landed on the cliffs.
It was the female, and was calling its mate to join her.
The male suddenly appeared and they mated –
After 8 seconds the male flew off –
The female remained for a while.
It then took off –
Next was the Humpback Whales turn to attract our attention.
Then a Peregrine Falcon appeared again –
After about two minutes, it took off –
Thatwas the last we saw of the Peregrine Falcons. Waiting a bit more we spotted a seal –
Itw as getting quite cold due to wind, so we started back towards Maroubra Beach. On the walk back, I photographed some of the New Holland Honeyeaters –
This one spots an insect and grabs it.
And further along on the way back we spotted a Nankeen Kestrel on the cliffs.
And then an Osprey appeared. It was hunting for fish –
Another very good day.
