I decided to visit some of my favourite local bird photography venues. I first visited Barton Park and Landing Lights Wetland, and then caught a bus to Tempe and I walked up the Cooks River to Illawarra Road.

Barton Park
First – Landing Lights Wetland. Some Pied Stilts.

Red Browed Firetail

Golden Headed Cisticola

These tiny birds move around their territory and blast out their distinctive call.

Now moving along the Spring St Canal.
New Holland Honeyeater

Australian Reed Warbler

Superb Fairy Wren

Chestnut Teals

I saw this Magpie looking at some spilt pasta.

A Galah was passing and decided to drop in.

It landed amongst the Magpies and started looking tough.

After inspecting the pasta and turning its nose up, it then did something funny. It rolled over on its back.

It got up as cheeky as ever and then flew off.

Superb Fairy Wrens

Great Egret

I then traveled by bus to Tempe. It was the weekend for the Transport Heritage in Sydney and steam trains wee running. Here is one passing through Tempe.
