Tempe Wetlands – 2 February 2019

It was World Wetlands Day. I was on my way home from a meeting, and decided to call into the Tempe Wetlands to see what birds were around.

I was pleased to see a pair of Nankeen Night Herons. I have not seen these type of herons very often at the Wetlands (only on one prior occasion). It was hard to get good photos of them however.

I had previously seen an Australian Grebe nest. It seems that the eggs have hatched, as I could see a parent looking after two very small chicks.

And a few other things –

Very long antenna!
