I was joined by Digi Dave for an interesting and enjoyable day looking for fungi to photograph at Bola Ck in Royal National Park. There was a fair bit out.
I was looking for waxcaps, and found a fair few. Here are some –
Hygrocybe aurantiopallens
Hygrocybe anomola
Porpolomopsis lewelliniae
Hygrocybe collucera
Gliophorus graminicolor
Hygrocybe astatogala
Hygrophorus involutus
Hygrocybe austropratensis
(Perhaps) Hygrocybe pseudograminicolor
Hygrocybe lilaceolamellata
Hunidicutis helicoides
Hygrocybe miniata
Hyrocybe erythrocrenata
It was very pleasing to see so many of these beautiful waxcaps. But there was more. Plenty of other fungi were around. On my last visit I had photographed a bracket fungus on a log that had spines. I found it again and got some better photos –
There are not that many bracket fungi found on dead wood that have spines. The closest I can get by matching pictures is Climacodon septentrionalis.
It was interesting that on the same log was another spine fungus. I think this one is Dentipellis leptodon.
There were also a lot of Cordyceps. Here are some –
Cordyceps gunnii
Cordyceps hawkesii
And now for some of the coral fungi –
I will finish with selection of the remaining fungi that we spotted –
