Cooks River Bird Survey – 9 February 2021

I was up early in the morning to get down to the Lang St Bridge over the Cooks River by 7 am in order to join the Mudlarks for the monthly bird survey. This month, the group was surveying downstream.

Here are some of the birds we saw –

Little Corellas

Some members of the group spotted a Long-billed Corella in the flock.

Grey Butcherbird

Eastern Rosella

This was one of four we spotted.

Australasian Figbirds

Red Wattlebird

This one has caught a cicada.

Striated Heron

Well done to the member of the group that spotted this juvenile Striated Heron.

Welcome Swallows

There were a lot of these sizing over the grass in the golf course.

Noisy Miners
