Birds at Sydney Olympic Park – 9 February 2021

After spending the early morning at the Cooks River, I headed home, and then in the afternoon, went on a visit to Sydney Olympic Park. There, I visited the Waterbird Refuge at Bicentennial Park, then went to Wentworth Common and The Brickpit.

I probably spent most of my time at Wentworth Common – and was on the lookout for Rails and Crakes. But did not spot any this visit (I may have left too early?). I did spot a nice pair of Brown Quail

At the Waterbird Refuge, a lot of the birds were too far away for decent photos, so I did not even try to photograph  them. Here are a few from that area –

Welcome Swallow

Black-fronted Dotterels

And from near the ship wrecks –

White-faced Heron

Superb fairy-wren

These are from or near The Brickpit –

Black Swans and Dusky Moorhen

Superb Fairy-wrens

And some from Wentworth Common –

Great Egret

Long-necked Turtle

Noisy Miner

And a few pictures of spiders –
