Mudlarks – Cooks River Bird Survey – 14 June 2022

An early start on a cold day – to meet the Mudlarks at 7:30 am on the Lang Street Footbridge for the monthly birds survey. This survey was going downstream – to do the Wave Rock Loop.

Eastern Rosella

Here are some of the birds we saw –

Rainbow Lorikeet

Australian Wood Ducks

Red-rumped Parrots (and Starlings)

Little Black Cormorant

Australasian Figbird

Great Cormorant

These birds were at the Dibble Street Waterhole –

Pacific Black Duck

Chestnut Teal and Dusky Moorhen

And there were a pair of Tawny Frogmouths

Now back to the Golf Course.

Australasian Figbird

Part of the Golf Course was being mowed. This attracted a large number of Welcome Swallows

And in the next two photos, there is a Tree Martin on the bottom –

Laughing Kookaburra

More Welcome Swallows

Little Black Cormorants

As usual, the group finished off with morning tea. I then headed back down the Cooks River to see what other birds were around.
