It was time for the Greenway Bird Survey along the Dulwich Hill section. It is Spring and a lot of birds are nesting.

Here are some of the birds we saw –
Noisy Miner

Channel Billed Cuckoo

Grey Butcherbird

we deviated off our usual path and walked a short way in the reverse direction along The Greenway to see a nesting Tawny Frogmouth in the Piggot St Bushcare Site.
We soon spotted the nest, with an adult Tawny Frogmouth (probably the male) and two chicks.

New Holland Honeyeater

Red Wattlebird

Two male Pacific Koels –

A male Brush Turkey was checking the temperature of its mound –

Little Corella

Australian White Ibis

Little Corella

Rainbow Lorikeet

Magpie

Australasian Figbirds

And a second Tawny Frogmouth nest – again with two chicks.

Rainbow Lorikeet

We then finished the survey, and had coffee at a cafe near Arlington. Then some of the group saw some more Tawny Frogmouths near Constitution Road. There were three – probably a pair with an older chick.
