Another walk organised by Brian Everingham for the National Parks Association. This was planned to be a morning walk from Heathcote to the Karloo Pool on Kangaroo Creek in Royal National Park and then return. There would be plenty of time for photography and the opportunity for a swim in the pool.
Brian’s walks attract people with a wide range of expertise to do with nature and they always seem very willing to share their knowledge. So they are like a masterclass to learn about aspects of the natural world.
This walk was no exception.
We set out from Heathcote about 9 am and walked down the track to the pool with many pauses along the way. Some orchids and many other plants were in flower and quite a few insects were out.
At the Karloo Pool, I enjoyed a nice swim. The water was a very pleasant temperature.
We then walked back out to Heathcote by the same track.
This was a very pleasant morning outing. More photos are online here.
