Voyager Point Walk – 30 March 2024

I joined my friends John and Chuin Nee, their two boys Jasper and Sebastian, two of their friends Sam and Amy, and also Don on a nice walk at Voyager Point Wetland Reserve on the Georges River. Later, we were joined by Digi Dave.

The reserve is easy to reach from East Hills Station. To get there you cross this footbridge over the Georges River. The bridge is very close to the station.

Pittosporum –

Once over the river, we walked ashore distance to the entrance to the reserve on Sirius Road.

Banksia sp.

Australian Raven

Much of the Reserve is very nice woodland –

Grevillea sp.

We stopped a nice spot for a break –

Yellow-faced Honeyeater

Dragonfly

We saw these unusual structures quite a few times and wondered what they were. I have seen similar structures before and they were protecting very tiny baby spiders.

We walked around a side loop to Williams Creek, a tributary of the Georges River.

And to finish, we visited the wetlands near Sirius Road – I think they are called Voyager Park.

After this we walked back across the footbridge to East Hills, and stopped off at the East Hills Hotel for refreshments and a meal. This had been a pleasant day out.
