Wolli Creek Nature Walk – 24 September 2024

I spent a very pleasant morning walking down the Two Valleys Track from Bexley North downstream to Just past the rock climbing crag, then back to Earlwood shops for a bus home.

Here are some of the things I saw along the way –

White-browed Scrubwren

Dianella caerulea

Superb Fairy-wrens

White-browed Scrubwren

New Holland Honeyeater

Laughing Kookaburras

Australian Reed-Warbler

This pair of Rainbow Lorikeets were checking out a hollow –

And so were this pair of Rainbow Lorikeets –

But they were being pestered by a Noisy Miner

Red Wattlebird

I looked above the old swimming Pool just past the climbing crag and found some rock orchids in flower.

Tongue Orchid – Dendrobium linguiforme

And back at Girrahween Park, a nesting Tawny Frogmouth
