Malabar Headland 27 September 2024

I joined Valerie and Sue for a very nice day spent on Malabar Headland. We were fortunate to observe a great display of Nature – whales, orchids and Peregrine Falcons.

Walking out from Maroubra Beach, the Flannel Flowers were out –

And other flowers –

And a lot more of the Beard Orchids were out compared to the previous visit.

Australasian Gannet

Humpback Whale

Red-bellied Black Snake

Humpback Whales

Kelp Gull

We had to wait a long time (mid afternoon) to see some Peregrine Falcon action, but eventually one turned up (the male) and did some nice flying. We hoped that the female was nearby sitting on eggs.

Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo

And it was good to catch up with Alana while we were out on the Headland.
