I travelled up to the Northern Beaches and walked out onto the sea cliffs to photograph a nesting pair of Peregrine Falcons.
I would appear that the Peregrine Falcon’s nesting is going well. We may see young in a few weeks.
When I arrived, I spotted the female Peregrine Falcon perched near the nest on guard duty –
And the male was perched nearby.
I also saw evidence of some prey –
I waited for the female to take off, but when it did, it took off in a direction away from me.
I chated with Simon, another bird photographer that was on the cliffs.
While I was having lunch, I spotted some Humpback Whale activity –
The female had returned to her perch, and she spent a lot of time preening.
The male flew past at high speed –
The female then took off –
The male had landed –
And a bit later it returned with prey –
It took the prey to the nest area, presumable to feed young.
Simon spotted a distant White-bellied Sea Eagle –
Then one of the Peregrine Falcons appeared, and seemed angry.
I think we were too close to where chicks were being fed, so we moved well away.
And then an Osprey flew past, along with some Magpies –
And one last view of the female Peregrine Falcon –
This had been a nice day.
