Cape Banks – 11 August 2026

After the Mudlarks bird survey, I joined Sue at Maroubra Beach for an intended visit to Malabar Headland National Park. But when we arrived we found the eastern section of Malabar Headland National Park was closed due to a shooting event at the adjacent rifle range. We met up with Alana and then Valerie at the Beach and after some discussion, we decided to visit Cape Banks in Kamay Botany Bay National Park.

We had pleasant time at Cape Banks. Valerie drove us over and we set out from near the rescue helicopter base.

On the walk south, we followed the top of the cliffs.
