Nature at Wolli Creek and Tempe – 30 October 2018

I spent an interesting and enjoyable day wandering down the Two Valleys Track from Bexley North to Tempe and then crossing the Pacific Highway and looking for birds in Tempe Wetlands.

I could hear quite a few birds along Wolli Creek, but I had trouble photographing them. A lot, I could not spot, and some others like a Rufous Fantail were too quick for me.  Here are some of the birds I did photograph along the creek.

I had more luck with the Flying Foxes. At this time of the year, a lot of the females in their camp have babies. I was able to photograph quite a few with their babies. But I had no luck in photographing them flying with their babies holding on. Perhaps it was the wrong time of the day?

At the Cooks River – there was someone paddling upstream.

At Tempe Wetlands I found a few birds were out. I spent some time trying to photograph some Reed Warblers –

And a few of the other birds, a Figbird and a White-plumed Honeyeater –

And a skink –
