Sydney Olympic Park – Birds and Fungi – 30 March 2022

This was an afternoon trip to Sydney Olympic Park. I first went to Woo-la-ra to photograph the stinkhorns again that I had seen on my previous visit.

These stinkhorns are Pseudocolus fuciformis. Here are some more photos –

And here is a Ileodictyon gracile, the smooth cage fungus –

There were also plenty of Earth Stars –

Later in Bicentennial Park, I saw this Aseroë rubra

And now for some of the birds I saw –

Great Egret

Some Black Swans in the Brickpit –

Here is an Australasian Grebe in Wentworth Common –

Pied Stilts in the Waterbird Refuge –

Black-fronted Dotterels

Great Egrets and a White-faced Heron

I then made my way to Mason Park Wetlands.

As I was leaving, I bumped into Lennis, another bird photographer. Recently she had spotted an Australian Hobby at these wetlands.
