A Quick Trip to Sydney Park – 17 October 2022

On the way home from Royal National Park, I stopped off at St Peters and made quick visit to Sydney Park. I wanted to have another look for the Powerful Owl. This time I had success.

It took me a while to spot it. After a quick look, I visited the Tawny Frogmouth on its nest –

And the female was in the same tree as I had seen it the previous visit.

Then, with more careful looking, I spotted the Powerful Owl.

It was great to see such an iconic bird in local park.

Before I left. I had a look at the Australasian Grebe on its nest –

And this Noisy Miner wanted to remind us that they are honeyeaters –

And I saw this creature lurking in the large pond. An eel perhaps?

A short but worthwhile visit.
