Classic coastal walking Royal National Park. I joined Brian Everingham and party from the National Parks Association of NSW for a walk along the Coastal Track.
In the party was Brian, Valerie, Suzanne, Paul, Amy and myself. We started from Wattamolla and first walked past the lagoon to Providential Head. On the way we passed these nice wildflowers, which Brian Pointed out and named them as Chloanthes stoechadis.
Providential Point provides fine views and we noted the storm out to sea.
Crested Tern
Rock Warbler
On the top, some of us took a more scenic route on a slightly lower ledge.
This route took us past some amazing rock sculptures. Nature’s art.
Back on the track we could not help noticing the many New Holland Honeyeaters.
The tide was low at Curracurrang.
Close to Eagle Rock we spotted a Peregrine Falcon causing past.
It looped around a few times.
Then a second one passed by.
We were now at Eagle Rock, with its fine views of Curracurrong Falls.
And a bit further along were Curra Falls
We stopped on Eagle Rock for lunch.
Then, we went back to the Coastal Track, to get views from the south. On the way we spotted another Rock Warbler –
When nectar is scarce the New Holland Honeyeaters supplement their diet with insects.
On the way back, we spotted a juvenile Sea Eagle –
Almost back at Wattamolla, Valerie admires this dyke –
Rainbow Lorikeets

Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos

Thanks to Brian for a a very pleasant walk, and also to Valerie for a lift down and back.
