I spent a pleasant hour or two at Sydney Park in the afternoon. It had been a while since I had visited the Park, and I wondered what birds were around.
I think I heard a Lewin’s Rail, but it was a Buff-banded Rail that posed for my photos.
There also seemed to be quite a few Australasian Grebes at the Park. Here are some –
And the pair of Black Swans –
The Buff-banded Rail was enjoying the warm sun in the South-East corner of the outside area of the island pond.
Here are three Hardheads in the large pond –
And a Grebe and a Eurasian Coot –
Little Pied Cormorant
The Buff-banded Rail was still in the same spot –
And another photo of one of the Grebes in the island pond –
I looked but could not spot any Tawny Frogmouths.
