After the Cooks River Bird Survey, I visited Barton Park for a few hours.

When I arrived, I could see the water level in the main pond at Landing Lights Wetland was quite low. This means suitable conditions for Black-fronted Dotterels. I looked around the exposed mudflats but could not see any.
There were the usual Pied Stilts –

And this New Holland Honeyeater was foraging –

Then tow more White-faced Herons arrived –

A Brown Honeyeater was calling –

I thought this Pied Stilt was extending its leg –

I was wrong!

I spotted the Horsfield’s Bronze-Cuckoo that I had seen on my previous visit further along the Spring Street Canal –

When I returned to the wetland, I did spot a single Black-fronted Dotterel –
