Greenway Bird Survey – 28 October 2023

I took part in the local bird survey along the Dulwich Hill part of the Greenway. The group meets on the east side of Waratah Mills Light Rail Station at 7:30 am on the 4th Saturday of the month – and then slowly walks along the streets near the Greenway – on a loop that finished back at the station.

Here are  some of the birds we saw –

Rainbow Lorikeet

Red Wattlebirds

And it was Halloween –

Common Blackbird

New Holland Honeyeater

Both these Sparrows are eating small insects –

Silvereye

Brush Turkey

The Turkey finds a snail and eats it.

Little Corellas

Rainbow Lorikeet

Red Wattlebird

Back near Waratah Mills Station, we then made our way to a local cafe for coffee and a chat. A pleasant start to the day.
