Fungi at Ferndale Park – 2 June 2024

During the afternoon and evening of the day before, a Saturday, around 100 mm of rain and fallen in Sydney. The Sunday forecast looked a lot better, so I set out for Ferndale Park to see how the fungi was going.

I found a fair bit out, although some of it had been washed out by too much heavy rain.

Here is a selection –

Hygrocybe sp.

Humidicutis sp.

I could only find one of this green species.

Perhaps Armillaria sp.

Cortinarius rotundisporus

Cortinarius austrovenetus

Gliophorus sp.

Cortinarius rotundisporus

Clavulinopsis amoena

Rimbachia cf. bryophila

Microglossum viride

Gliophorus viscidibrunnea

I was pleased to find this species had returned to a particular small spot in the park.

Russula persanguinea

Clavulinopsis fusiformis

Hygrocybe sp.

Clavulinopsis amoena

Perhaps Rhodocollybia sp.

Unknown – perhaps old Cuphophyllus austropratensis

Ramaria lorithamnus

Ramaria sp.

And a photo showing the high water level in Swaines Creek (it was tricky to cross) –
