Back to the Lane Cove River Fungi – 19 June 2024

I made another visit to check the status of the Parrot Waxcaps near the Lane Cove River.

I found about 5 of them, The one above is fresh. Note the insect on the stipe. is it resenting there or is it stuck on due to the glutinous surface?

Some of the older ones I had seen on the previous visit were still in good condition.

Gliophorus psittacinus group

The tow tiny ones at the base of the one below had not grown at all.

This one was green on the previous visit –

And some nearby fungi –

Ramariopsis sp.

Cuphophyllus austropratensis

Ramariopsis sp.

Ramariopsis sp.

I thought this may be developing Hydnellum fraudulentum, but they don’t seem to have coalesced into a larger blue coloured body with spines. So perhaps more likely to be a polypore like Stereopsis hiscens

Walking out, I spotted some nice Ramaria sp.
