Cooks River Birds – 6 August 2024

This was a fairly short trip – along the Cooks River between Illawarra Road and Gough Whitlam Park looking for birds to photograph.

I was looking for Tawny Frogmouths and Sacred Kingfishers, but I didn’t spot any. Here are some of the birds I did see –

Pacific Black Duck

Dusky Moorhen

At Gough Whitlam Park, I came across this dead Blue-tongued Skink

Australasian Figbird

I did spot a Striated Heron lurking in the mangroves –

Little Black Cormorant

Willie Wagtail
