I had told Sue about my great encounters with the Pacific Baza at Sydney Park, the previous day, and she was keen to see it again, so we arranged to meet there in the afternoon.
We did meet up near the Chimneys, and then soon located the Baza – again due to the kerfuffle of the other birds. Here are the culprits –
The Baza was again hunting in the trees.
I went around the other side of the thicket, hoping that it would fly out into the open. And for once, I was lucky. It did. And it was soon attacked by a Magpie –
The Baza flew away fast back to the trees –
We followed it about for a while.
And we met up with Gokay, a local bird photographer. He too was after the Baza.
