I had a family Christmas in Tasmania, staying at my sister and brother in law’s place at West Ulverstone. We were also joined by my other sister and her husband. I took my bird camera with me, and recorded some of the birds I saw.
Here are some photos –
After an early morning flight to Launceston, we stopped off at Deloraine for a late breakfast. Later I joined my brother in law, for a walk along the Meander River.
Tasmanian Native Hen
Then we spotted a Platypus –
These Tasmanian Native Hens look like they gave strange posture. They are drinking water. They gather some in their bills, then have to lift up their heads to swallow it.
Now at West Ulverstone , looking down at the beautiful coast. The island is Goat Island and can be reached in low tide.
