Tempe Bird Survey and Cooks River Birds – 11 January 2025

It was time to join the Tempe Birdos for their monthly bird survey. This month, I was in the group surveying at Tempe Reserve, but here are a few birds at Tempe Wetlands we saw while we were meeting.

At Tempe Reserve, we spotted a number of Channel Billed Cuckoos. Here is one –

After morning tea, I walked home via the Cooks River. At Wanstead Reserve I spotted this juvenile Striated Heron during in the mangroves –

And this pair of Tawny Frogmouths were in Marrickville Golf Course –
