Greenway Bird Survey – 12 March 2025

I took part in the early morning bird survey along the Hawthorne Canal section of The Greenway.

At Taverners Hill Light Rail Station we noticed a flock of White-throated Needletails (A type of Swift) flying high overhead.

And here is an Australasian Figbird

Lower down, on the path, we spotted some Suberb Fairy-wrens. Here is one –

And we encountered four Brush Turkeys.

One was up a tree –

And just before Marion Street, a Magpie Lark

And we also spotted a rather rare visitor, a Spangled Drongo. We had seen two last survey along This section of The Greenway.
