Aurora in Sydney? – 1 June 2025

I had been watching the Aurora forecast, and it seemed to be quite reasonable for change of seeing an aurora in Sydney. But I was busy editing Osprey photos and time passed during the evening. So I probably headed out far too late in the evening.

I walked to Marrickville Park and set up my camera and tripod. In the photo above, you can see a glow. Is it an aurora or sky fog or just light pollution. I am not sure, but the glow is restricted to the south. And it was a clear night with plenty of stars visible. The photos were taken about 10:30 pm. The aurora seemed to be best around 8:30 pm.
