Birds at Nurragingy Reserve – 23 June 2025

Sue joined me for a pleasant day spent at Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside. The weather was cool at first, but later developed into a very pleasant day, and it was warm in the sun. The birds however were fairly quiet.

Here are some we saw –

Great Egret

Australian White Ibis

The Great Egret had moved int the sun –

Golden Whistler

Grey Fantail

Rose Robin

Eastern Rosella

we spotted three Tawny Frogmouths perched together.

Water Dragon

Laughing Kookaburras

Little Pied Cormorant

  1. Nicole says:

    Hi David,
Whereabouts did you spot the rose robin?

    • Dave Noble says:

This was at the long thin pool – with the dirt path on one side. I used to see them a lot on the Kookaburra Firetrail (around the northern perimeter) – but there seems to be too many Bell Miners there at present.
