I spent nice day out with Valerie and Sue visiting Royal National Park at Audley, and then on the way home, we stopped off at Taren Point to look for shorebirds.

Soldier Crabs – Mictyris longicarpus

A friend Gary, who lives nearby came down to see us, and told us about these “Army Forming” Soldier Crabs, which he had studied at University.

Gary explained “Notice all the mud/sand balls from which crabs filter out organic matter.”

Awesome shots! I believe the white-browed scrubwren and brown gerygone you listed are actually a yellow-throated scrubwren and a large-billed scrubwren respectively!
