Bob and myself had earlier walked the then new Grand Clifftop Walk, but had been unable to complete the part of the walk along the Darwin Walk at Wentworth Falls as it was undergoing extensive track work. Well that work has just been completed, and I was keen to see what the upgraded track was like. So I suggested that walk to Bob, and we also had the extension to Rocket Point and Lincolns Rock if time allowed.

In the lead up, it had been quite wet, so it would be interesting to see how the new track work would cope. Well – it did cope very well. The track has been hardened with gravel and metal boardwalk, and also large rocks.

The track follows Jamison Creek.

Here is an example of the track work –

Jamison Creek

The creek flows through woodland and in other places there is buttongrass moorland.

We are now close to the waterfalls. Bob is at the top of Weeping Rock Falls –

This was the only part of the walk that we got wet feet – walking down these steps.

Weeping Rock Falls

Lower down are some nice cascades –

Queens Cascade

We then walked to the bottom of Rocket Point Falls –

We next descended part way down the steps to get a view of Wentworth Falls. Here is the upper waterfall –

And we could look down and see the top of the lower waterfall –

Back to the upper waterfall –

Our next view was at Rocket Point, on a side track. The track passes through this stone natural arch.

And Rocket Point offers a fine view of Wentworth Falls.

And we could look along and see National Pass –

We then followed the track to Lincolns Rock. There are good views along the way.

On the left of the photo below you can just see Den Fenella Falls.

We cold look down and see Vera Falls –

It was evident that a lot of people were at Lincolns Rock.

A few tour buses had arrived!

We then returned via the other track of the track back to Rocket Point, and then walked back up the Darwin Walk. It had been a very pleasant walk, and it was great to see the track open again.
