Another day at Long Reef. This visit twas pretty average as visits there go. There were plenty of Osprey flying around, but for the most part they were not that active in diving for fish. It was high tide during my visit.
Here are some photos –
Ospreys

Way out at sea was an old style ship – the James Craig.

A Nankeen Kestrel made a few appearances –

This Osprey was hunting –

And then a second arrived.

Passing Little Pied Cormorant

And then the hunting Osprey returned.

It dived unsuccessfully –

And then suddenly dived again –

This time it had a fish.

The Nankeen Kestrel was back hunting for prey –

A bit later, the Osprey that had caught the fish, suddenly appeared.

It was being harassed by another Osprey.

Then there was a quiet lull, until all the birds on the island took to the air.

A White-bellied Sea Eagle had landed on the island.

It stayed a while, then took off –

Another quiet lull. A distant Humpback Whale –

A single Sooty Oystercatcher was flying past –

The Sea Eagle had returned.

And some, Osprey arrived.

The Nankeen Kestrel seemed to have caught a lizard –

And just before I left., a few more Osprey shots –

Your 11th image from top is a Little Pied Cormorant, not a Pied Cormorant.
Thanks! A careless mistake on my part. Now fixed.
