Wolli Creek Bird Survey – 5 October 2025

I joined in on the monthly survey along Wolli Creek between Girrahween Park and the Flying Fox Camp and back.

At Girrahween Park, near Fauna St, w e heard calls from Noisy Miners. They were trying to drive away a pair of Channel-billed Cuckoos.

Now along the track. A Red Wattlebird

Brown Gerygone

Brush Turkey

And the Tongue Orchids were in flower – Dendrobium linguiforme

White-browed Scrubwren

Eastern Yellow Robin

This angophora has the trails of a Red Triangle Slug. They graze on the bark for algae.

New Holland Honeyeater

This White-browed Scrubwren was having a sand bath –

And then the group went to Earlwood for morning tea.
