This was a good way to start the day – I joined in on the early morning bird survey with the Mudlarks along the Cooks River. This month the survey was the upstream loop – to the Boat Harbour and then cross to the Cup and Saucer Creek Wetlands, then back downstream.
Before starting, we took time to inspect the new Jennifer Newman Memorial. It is nice and features a Tawny Frogmouth.
In Ewen Park, a Willie Wagtail was hunting for insects –

And we spotted a Tawny Frogmouth, high up in a tree, sitting on a nest.

We also inspected the new seating at the Boat Harbour.

And a Brush Tailed Possum bursting out of its home –
It was good to see the native plants doing well in the new bush areas –
