Tempe Bird Survey – and Cooks River Birds – 11 October 2025

I joined the Tempe Birdos for their monthly survey. After meeting at the lower pond at Tempe Wetlands, I joined the group that surveyed at Tempe Reserve.

The first few photos below were taken at the Wetlands before the groups separated.

Then the bird flew to sit on a nest nearby –

The tow groups then combined and had morning tea at Tempe Reserve. After this, I walked part way home along the Cooks River. Here are a few more photos.

In Gough Whitlam Park, i heard commotion made my Noisy Miners and went over to investigate and spotted a Channel-billed Cuckoo

It was being harassed by Noisy Miners

It was then joined by a second Channel-billed Cuckoo.

Now, they get harassed by a Currawong

And some last photos of a Grey Butcherbird with a small worm.
